Delegates and experts gathered in China this week for the Asia-Pacific Media High-End Forum, where discussions centered on how artificial intelligence can act as a new driver for regional development, according to China Daily.
The forum, held in Guangdong province, brought together media representatives and officials from across the Asia-Pacific region. Participants examined ways AI could support economic growth and cooperation, with several speakers emphasizing the technology's potential to transform industries and improve public services. The conversations align with broader APEC priorities as China holds the rotating chairmanship for the year.
Beyond the formal sessions, foreign guests toured multiple cities in Guangdong, including Guangzhou, to observe local innovation and business environments. According to reports from Xinhua and other outlets, the visits highlighted how the region combines manufacturing strength with emerging digital industries. At one stop in Shenzhen, delegates saw an exhibition featuring products from ten countries alongside locally made smart technology, an event organizers said was meant to showcase cultural exchange during the APEC "China year."
